How it happened
Conscious Corner grew organically. In 2000, the seeds were planted and Roots Market sprouted. As Roots grew, it became evident that more food options were needed to accommodate a wider variety of customer needs. So, the meat and seafood department displaced the small gift section and in 2003 it moved and built a Nest of its own a few doors down. After repeated requests for healthy, hot vegetarian food at Roots, it was clear that the customers were identifying a need. After much germinating, another branch emerged in 2004: Great Sage Restaurant. With the trunk firmly rooted, the nest well built, and the sage wildly spreading, it was time to focus on our animal friends. In 2005, Bark bloomed.
